  Version is the one that describes the model number of the box. It is a bit sloppily worded by Sky.

  I'm afraid you'll be waiting quite a while yet with that box I suspect.
  They were the last ones to get the Darwin update quite a long time after all the others.

  Your DRX780 could, of course, accidentally develop an 'unfortunate' fatal fault which could render it useless. . . and no longer able to receive the services. :rolleyes:
  Which may then cause Sky to replace it with a DRX890 (complete with new software) as a reward for your continued custom.
  Not that I'm suggesting you throw your STB around the room, or down the stairs, or anything . . . because that wouldn't be right. :mad:

  How can Sky say we can look forward to more channels per page when the opposite is true if you have mini TV off? Seems a bit disingenuous to make this a positive selling point when some of us are going to find it a negative one.

  You wil have to give them the serial from the screen. You better watch that its not a nicked box. What type of Sky+ box is it 1 or 2.

  Does the serial number on the back look dodgy?? Did you buy it from a company on e-bay?? I would check everything before you phone Sky. You don't want the rozzers poping round do you.

  With help from the knowlegable Coullio it seems the box is kosher.
  The guy on eBay was selling them in batches of three - I got mine for £140, though he has none on sale at present.
  He trades as kin1978, and I was perfectly pleased with the transaction.

  Apologies for not being 100% accurate but my issue is that the serial number on the system details section of my SkyHD STB is different to that on the sticker on the back of the box - sky don't know how to rectify it and have 'escalated' it to someone else..

  the sticker on the box is irrelevant.
  it's the one on the system details menu that you use.
